Correggio Peagler, Sr. serves as the Founder/CEO and Principal Consultant for StratEx Transformation Sciences, LLC (StratEx). Peagler envisioned StratEx as a consulting firm that would provide its clients with insights, innovations, and best practices from multiple industries, sectors, and disciplines. Peagler brings more than 42 years of experience, including service as an Engineering Business Unit Leader, Digital Solutions Business Group Founder and Leader, Strategy Leader, Change Agent, Auditor, IT Leader, Network Security Officer, and US Army Signal Corps Captain. It is Peagler’s resume of cross-industry, enterprise-wide transformation and leadership experience that is behind StratEx’s ability to serve a broad-spectrum of clients.
Born in 1963, in Greenville, Ala., Peagler began to develop his leadership skills and technology proficiency at a time when the country was experiencing both exciting and turbulent waves of change. During the period when school systems in South Alabama were wrestling with integration. Peagler served as President of his class from the 6th grade through his senior year of high school, with the exception of his junior year, when he flipped roles with his long-time VP. He consistently demonstrated the ability to set the example for positive, purpose-driven engagement inside and outside the classroom. Peagler's effective communication across cultures and generational lines supported his ability to drive focus on shared goals and increase morale. This challenging leadership laboratory is where Peagler honed his ability to lead.
As a high school student, Peagler joined the Alabama National Guard, attending regular bootcamp during the summer prior to college. He was enrolled in the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) and the Early Commissioning Program (ECP) at the University of Alabama, earning his commission one month before his 20th birthday.
As a young student, Peagler showed tremendous insight around trends in science and technology. He would observe his parents, both educators, perform manual tasks to manage their school related responsibilities, as educators did at the time. Years before the proliferation of personal computers, Peagler challenged the idea that grade books and student records had to be paper-based. Around 1980, he requested that his parents purchase a Tandy Radio Shack Model III computer and a HP15C calculator for him, which they did. Peagler would go on to leverage those tools in innovative ways in college. In 1981 and 1982, while most computer science and engineering students were spending hours in the computer center punching manual Hollerith cards, Peagler was developing logic for his programs in his dorm room using a BASIC interpreter or FORTRAN Compiler. Once the program logic was verified accurate, Peagler would print the program, then go to the computer center and punch the cards to complete his assignments. This approach resulted in less time in the computer center and more time to focus on other classes or leisure. Peagler became a tutor for other students as well.
After graduating from Alabama A&M University, Peagler served on active duty at the US Army Signal Center, Fort Gordon, at the Air Force Institute of Technology (graduate certificate program in the School of Computer Engineering), Wright Patterson AFB, and as Telecommunications Operations Officer/Systems Control Leader, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea. These roles allowed him to display and further hone his leadership skills under some of the most difficult situations. While in Korea, he implemented the one of the first Geographic Information Systems in a forward deployed field unit in 1987 to support communications systems planning and frequency management for the Second Infantry Division. He also worked to secure deployment of frequency hopping radios for the DMZ force to improve operational security, several years ahead of what was originally planned.
There are many other examples of how Peagler naturally challenged the status quo, and these examples aptly illustrate who we are at StratEx Transformation Sciences, LLC.
As a professional, Peagler has developed business strategy, IT and IT Security strategy, has designed and installed networks, and performed enterprise-wide business process transformation across a wide array of industries. He led business process transformation of Fortis Family Life Insurance Company, resulting in $5M in bottom line savings. In addition, Peagler led the transformation of the Corporate Risk Management Function at Georgia-Pacific Corporation, resulting in an over $30M reduction in insurance and business process costs for the organization. Peagler also created a management, communications, and Information Solutions business unit within the engineering firm CH2MHILL (now Jacobs). His model structure and service architecture were adopted firm-wide by the organization.
Peagler earned a BS in Computer Science/Economics from Alabama A&M University. He is a graduate of the US Army Signal Officer's Basic Course, Telecommunications Operations Officer Course, the US Air Force Computer Systems Teleprocessing course and the US Army Combat Development Project Management Course. He earned an MBA at Georgia State University. He is also certified in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for HR Professionals through the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.
At StratEx, LLC, we are Insightful, Innovative, and Impactful in all that we do. That is the StratEx Transformation Sciences Way!
